The Mouse's House

I couldn't use the computer at Disney so this is going to be a long one...
Our drive from Miami to Disney was uneventful. Cesar made good time and we did not make any wrong turns until we were only four minutes away. We all made it safe and sound and ready to hit the parks. The first day we went to Typhoon Lagoon and Sabine loved the lazy river. She refused to go in our tube and wanted to ride in her own without anyone holding on: "Bine do it!". Che went on a couple of small water slides and then went on a bigger one and came down saying "Mom, that was AWESOME! I want to do it again!" He loved it and had a blast going on slides over and over again. We also did a snorkeling experience through a saltwater pool with sharks and rays and fish. Che really enjoyed it and I did too! (Check out my super hero outfit...not very flattering.) We then went to Magic Kingdom and had an excellent time riding rides. Sabine loved the Teacups, Dumbo, and Small World and kept screaming out "Again, again!" whenever the ride was finished. She had pure joy in her eyes. She was thrilled! She also loved seeing the castle and the fireworks and kept saying "OOhhh and aahhh" as she watched them. Che was too scared to go on Snow White's Scary Adventure, but he informed us that he was too scared because of the witch not because it was dark. We ended up staying until 1:30, partially because Che wanted to wait in line for Peter Pan. Sabine fell asleep waiting for Peter Pan, but Che lasted the whole time. Che also made friends with whomever he sat next to on the bus and even seemed to seek new friends out. With one lady and her child he sang songs, told them all about Country Day, and ended up tickling both of them, within about a seven minute bus ride.

After hanging out in a few of the other parks and dodging some rain and lightening storms, we ended up at Blizzard Beach where Che decided that the lazy river wasn't so lazy and tried to race me through it. He swam under tubes and around people as I tried to catch up with him in a tube and carrying his. It was exhausting! When we went back the next day the lifeguard saw Che racing through the river and said "Hey, I remember you!" We also went on a wonderful family ride a couple of times and Sabine LOVED it! She smiled so much and even loved waterfalls raining down on her and getting splashed as our tube hit the pool. This particular family ride required a very long trek up a mountain. There were probably over 200 steps. Each time we did it, for some reason, Sabine would scream out "Mita's house!" I am not sure why she thought Summit Plummet was Mita's house... That same day we saw a lovely message in the sky, that we would never see in St. Croix: "Jesus loves" and "God= :)".

Towards the end of the day Che decided that he had to go pee. So, I took him. The bathroom floor at the water park was of course wet and so I tried to make sure Che's pants didn't touch the floor. Then he screamed out "I want privacy, get out!" I said "No way" and he basically threw me out of the bathroom, but only after I made sure I put the toilet seat up so he wouldn't have to touch anything. My biggest fear was that he wouldn't be able to unlock the door and I would have to crawl on the wet floor to open it. The he dropped the bomb: "I need to go poop!" Of course at this point everyone in the bathroom was chuckling. I said, "Let me in so I can help you." He refused. I squirmed thinking of him putting down the toilet seat, putting paper on it, and taking off his shorts as he is accustomed to doing at home. I tried to walk him through it as best I could through the stall door. Then he screamed out "Help me WIIIIIPPPEEE!" At this point the entire bathroom population was in hysterics. I said, "OK, unlock the door" and crossed my fingers...phew...he could do it. I helped him wipe. Picked up his shorts out of the water, put his shoes back on him, scrubbed all of our hands and shoved him in the park shower. Gross.

Our last night we went back to Magic Kingdom and Che went on a couple of the scarier roller coasters with Cesar while Sabine and I shopped and watched the parade. She screamed out "Mornin'" and "Hi" to all of the characters that waved at her during the parade and screamed "House, House" when she saw Minnie and Mickey (she says house instead of mouse). We rode Pirates of the Caribbean again where Sabine proceeded to point out everything she saw to me, "Dog", "Pig", "Dark", "Agua", etc. It was very funny. We all definitely enjoyed ourselves and were beat. Cesar managed to talk me out of going to Animal Kingdom our last day so Che swam in the pool at the hotel while I packed and then we said good-bye to Disney and hello to our next adventure!
