We have been having a terrific time visiting with the Beauchamps in Savannah. The adults all had a date night at a fabulous restaurant called Alligator Soul. The building was spectacular with old bricks and little nooks and crannies. Our food was very good, especially my fried green tomatoes with chipotle dipping sauce. The best part was that we all got to chat without having to yell out "Stop pulling your sister's hair!" On Friday Melissa and I took the kids to The Sentient Bean, a terrific coffee shop and restaurant. I had one of the best coffees I have ever had (much needed since Sabine is refusing to sleep at night) and a cheese and egg sandwich on a savory scone--yum! Then we took the kids to play at Forsythe Park and they had a blast. The kids also played tons at Beauchamp Park in the backyard, wrestled each other (and Alex) in the living room, played a host of other games, and watched a few movies when the adults needed a break. Today we took the kids to pick blackberries and I was pretty amazed that Sabine understood only to pick the black ones; however, it proved more difficult for her to heed my advice to wait to eat them until we pay for them and wash them. We finished the night off by going to a pool to swim and all of the kids crashed, except for Che of course who is working on puzzles as I type. Tomorrow we are off to Chapel Hill!
A little side story: I brought Sabine's baby chair in for her to eat (she is still demanding beans for breakfast). She refused to sit in it and wanted to sit with the big kids the entire time. She was usually the best behaved one at the table--definitely the best behaved Guerra.
The kids all sitting at the bfast table is so cute!
